Junior GIS Analyst

Location: Remote, but candidates must be local to the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area or within direct rail/commuting access for periodic on-site meetings, stakeholder coordination, and customer engagements. Candidates must be U.S. citizens eligible to pass a federal background check and favorable suitability determination for DoD systems.

What you will do

• Aggregate ARNG State and Territory geospatial data and metadata using structured QA/QC and enterprise workflows.
• Analyze data quality and generate discrepancy reports covering geodatabase geometry, schema, and attribution with Python-based validation tools.
• Modify and optimize existing CIP tools and Python scripts for validation and reporting.
• Support and update the Geospatial Layer and Attribute Database (GLAD) application.
• Provide helpdesk support, troubleshoot user issues, and support compliant CIP data submissions from field installations.
• Support SDSFIE migration and compliance and facilitate stakeholder training sessions.

Requirements

• Must be local to the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area or within direct rail/commuting access for periodic on-site meetings and customer engagements.
• Bachelor’s degree and at least 2 years of related professional GIS experience.
• Working knowledge of Python for workflow automation and modification of geospatial validation scripts.
• Knowledge of GIS concepts, cartographic and geospatial production techniques, and digital spatial data formats.
• Hands-on experience with ArcGIS Pro, SQL, and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Experience with Enterprise GIS, Portal for ArcGIS, and ArcGIS Dashboards.
• U.S. citizenship and eligibility to pass a federal background check and favorable suitability determination to support DoD systems.

Nice to have

• Prior experience supporting military customers and familiarity with military command structures, installation workflows, and decision-making processes.
• Hands-on familiarity with SDSFIE schema requirements and real property asset management systems.
• Ability to work effectively from home in a collaborative, distributed team environment.
• Strong interpersonal communication skills, attention to detail, and flexibility to adapt to changing mission priorities.
