Director of Business Consulting Manufacturing (AI)

Location: Hybrid in Berlin or Cologne, Germany, or London, UK, with regular travel to client sites as required.

What you will do

• Lead client discovery to identify and qualify high-value AI use cases across manufacturing operations.
• Shape manufacturing offerings around digital twins and simulation, predictive maintenance, OEE improvement, and AI-enabled operations.
• Develop outcome-based propositions, business cases, KPIs, proposals, and RFP responses with pre-sales and delivery teams.
• Develop demos and proofs of concept with delivery teams and technology partners, and support manufacturing accounts with use-case roadmaps.
• Build commercial opportunities against an overlay revenue target while partnering with account owners and Account Development Managers.
• Share manufacturing expertise at industry events, client roundtables, and through thought leadership.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in manufacturing operations or digital manufacturing transformation, including experience in IT services or consulting.
• Hands-on experience with AI in manufacturing, including predictive maintenance, GenAI-supported maintenance and troubleshooting, simulation, or digital twins.
• Strong knowledge of plant operations and KPIs including OEE, MTTR, downtime, maintenance planning, and quality.
• Good understanding of shopfloor IT/OT, including MES, SCADA, IoT platforms, and ERP integration.
• Ability to turn manufacturing use cases into business cases with measurable outcomes and realistic, phased scopes.
• Pre-sales experience across client workshops, solution design, proposals, and RFP responses.
• Confidence engaging with senior operations stakeholders, including plant managers, Heads of Operations, and COOs.
• Program delivery experience and an understanding of how to turn proposals into successful implementations.
• Fluent English and German are required for client work in an international environment.

• Experience with NVIDIA Omniverse or physical AI.
• Experience sharing industry expertise through talks, articles, videos, or other thought-leadership formats.
