Corporate Security Officer (CSO), Canada

Location: Ottawa, Ontario, onsite with hybrid flexibility; occasional travel within Canada and internationally as required. The position is based in Ottawa.

What you will do

• Serve as hirify.global Canada's designated Company Security Officer and principal security authority, reporting to the President and advising Canadian leadership.
• Lead the security organization and management system across personnel, physical, information, and industrial security.
• Manage compliance with the Canadian Industrial Security Program, Controlled Goods Program, and related government requirements.
• Oversee security clearances, reliability screening, site access authorizations, secure facilities, classified information, and information-security coordination.
• Develop security policies, procedures, training, executive briefings, crisis-management, emergency-preparedness, and business-continuity programs.
• Conduct risk assessments, audits, inspections, investigations, corrective actions, and security support for bids, proposals, contracted programs, and international security arrangements.

Requirements

• University degree in Security Management, Risk Management, Intelligence Studies, Law, Public Administration, or a related field; equivalent experience will also be considered.
• Significant experience leading security programs within defence, aerospace, government, or another highly regulated sector.
• Experience as a Company Security Officer, Facility Security Officer, Security Manager, or in a comparable leadership role.
• Experience with the Canadian Industrial Security Manual, Contract Security Program requirements, Canada's Industrial Security Program, and related security requirements.
• Experience with IT and information-security best practices, and developing and implementing security policies, procedures, governance frameworks, and risk-mitigation strategies.
• Knowledge of Controlled Goods Program requirements, ITAR, EAR, and export-control regulations.
• Strong knowledge of personnel, physical, information, and industrial security principles.
• Experience building trusted relationships with senior executives, government stakeholders, customers, and external regulatory authorities.
• Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills in English; high personal integrity, sound judgment, and alignment with hirify.global's values of Trust, Drive, and Expertise.
• Eligibility to obtain and maintain the Canadian Government security clearances required for the role.

Nice to have

• Experience with NATO security requirements and international classified-information protection frameworks.
• Experience supporting major defence acquisition programs and government procurement processes.
• Experience managing secure facilities, secure networks, and classified information systems.
• Experience conducting security audits, compliance reviews, and security investigations.
• Experience with bilateral Security Agreements and Project Security Instructions.
• Knowledge of ISO 27001 and other recognized security standards.
• Understanding of hirify.global's business, products, values, and operating model.
• Professional certification such as CPP, PSP, CSMP, CISSP, CISM, or equivalent.
