Continuous Improvement Engineer (Manufacturing)

Location: Hybrid, based at the Porcari, Lucca site in Italy.

What you will do

• Design, implement, and document shop-floor processes using engineering best practices.
• Drive continuous improvements in production efficiency, quality, and productivity during a period of operational transformation.
• Participate in audits and provide technical support for production activities.
• Investigate and resolve production problems, recommending new processes and equipment where appropriate.
• Work with the Manufacturing Engineering Manager and production teams while operating both collaboratively and independently.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a Technical Diploma.
• At least 5 years of experience as a Manufacturing Engineer, Production Engineer, or Industrial Engineer in a manufacturing environment.
• Hands-on experience in an engineering-led production environment manufacturing electromechanical products.
• Practical application of Lean Manufacturing principles, Continuous Improvement methodologies, and process improvement tools, with proven improvements in efficiency, quality, and productivity.
• Strong knowledge and practical experience with 5S, 5 Whys, Ishikawa/Fishbone Analysis, Gap Analysis, and Timing Methods.
• Proficiency in data analysis, process performance measurement, and root cause analysis.
• Experience with CAD software, including AutoCAD and Solid Edge.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Fluent Italian at an advanced level and professional English at minimum B2 level.
• Effective communication, organisation, attention to detail, problem-solving ability, and the ability to work both as part of a team and independently.
