Security Architect (Cybersecurity)

Location: Remote or hybrid, United Kingdom. Candidates must have a pre-existing right to work and travel within the UK.

What you will do

• Produce security architecture designs for internal systems and customer-facing solutions in line with the overarching architecture framework.
• Conduct threat modelling and risk assessments for applications, platforms, and services.
• Prepare security assurance documentation for governance, customer assurance, and formal accreditation activities.
• Collaborate with Technical Architects, Enterprise Architects, engineering teams, and the wider cyber security function to ensure secure-by-default solutions.
• Assess emerging threats and vulnerabilities, including CVEs, and advise on remediation and controlled adoption of new security technologies.
• Present security designs and risk positions to the Technical Assurance Board, support delivery teams, and contribute security architecture input to bids and security questionnaires.

Requirements

• Experience as a Security Architect or senior security engineer with strong design experience, or as a technical specialist ready to move into a broader architecture and assurance role.
• Practical experience designing and assuring secure systems.
• Strong understanding of security principles, non-functional requirements, and risk management.
• Confidence engaging stakeholders across engineering, architecture, and governance.
• Pre-existing right to work and travel within the UK, with documentary evidence required.
• Satisfactory vetting, references, and occupational health checks are required; a DBS check may also be required depending on the role.

Nice to have

• Experience working in regulated or public-sector environments.
• Familiarity with ISO 27001, NCSC Cyber Essentials, NIST, or CIS standards.
