Senior Backend Engineer Trust & Safety (Go/Scala)

Location: Hybrid, with 2 recommended office days per week in Kaunas or Vilnius, Lithuania.

Salary: €5,250–€7,100 gross per month.

What you will do

• Work with data scientists and product managers to productionise detection logic, ML-driven solutions, and experiments.
• Improve the scalability, latency, and resilience of systems processing streaming, behavioural, and risk signals at large volumes.
• Contribute to experimentation and rollout mechanisms for safely testing and validating detection approaches.
• Monitor deployed code using tools such as Kibana and Grafana.
• Apply Agile and Lean principles, collaborate through GitHub pull requests and code reviews, and partner across teams to prioritise and deliver results.
• Own SLIs and SLOs within the product team to ensure quality and reliability.

Requirements

• Solid backend engineering skills.
• Experience with Golang, Scala, or Ruby is a significant advantage.
• Willingness to learn and excel at streaming technologies and concepts such as Flink.
• Ability to identify improvements and actively propose them.
• Collaborative communication skills, including giving and receiving feedback and helping others grow.
• Ability to explain complex topics clearly to business stakeholders and engineers.
• Ability to engage in constructive conflict while maintaining respect and professionalism.

Nice to have

• Experience with Golang, Scala, or Ruby.
