Staff Product Design

Location: Berlin or Amsterdam, with the possibility of working remotely two days per week

What you will do

• Take a new year-end product from problem–solution fit to product-market fit through experiments and small iterations.
• Research accountant workflows, test concepts early, and shape the product from zero to one.
• Make product decisions collaboratively with the product manager and engineering manager.
• Help scale the product to additional markets.
• Manage and mentor designers in the area while fostering psychological safety.
• Collaborate with designers and teams across hirify.global through design critiques and cross-team feature work.

Requirements

• 7+ years of design experience, including at least 2–3 years at senior level.
• Hands-on product design experience with a strong focus on craft and use of AI in the design workflow.
• Experience starting from a blank page, turning early and unfinished thinking into a first version, and testing throughout the process.
• Experience managing and mentoring designers, ideally for two years or more.
• Experience working in a design team with multiple designers.
• Experience designing a product that scaled into different markets.
• Experience in accounting, tax, finance, or a similar field.
• Fluent English.
• A portfolio project demonstrating work from a blank page to a first version with testing along the way.

Hiring process

• 30-minute introductory call to discuss experience.
• 45-minute interview focused on background and the role.
• 90-minute portfolio review and live design critique, followed by a personality assessment and conversation with senior leadership.
