Applied AI Architect (GovTech)

Location: Washington, DC; hybrid policy requiring staff to work from one of the offices at least 25% of the time. Frequent travel to customer sites is required.

Annual compensation: $275,000–$315,000 USD OTE, including target sales commissions or bonuses and annual base salary.

What you will do

• Partner with account executives to understand customer requirements and translate business objectives into technical solutions.
• Advise enterprise customers throughout Claude adoption, from technical discovery and initial evaluation through deployment, coordinating across internal teams and stakeholders.
• Support customers building with Claude Code, the Claude API, and Claude for Enterprise.
• Create technical content for engineering, development, executive, and business audiences.
• Guide architecture decisions, integrate Claude with existing technology stacks, and help customers develop evaluation frameworks for their use cases.
• Identify integration patterns, share insights with Product and Engineering, travel to customer sites, and maintain knowledge of LLM capabilities and implementation patterns.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in technical customer-facing roles such as Solutions Architect, Sales Engineer, or Technical Account Manager.
• Experience navigating complex buying cycles involving multiple stakeholders.
• Ability to build relationships and communicate technical concepts to C-suite executives, engineering and IT teams, and other diverse stakeholders.
• Strong technical communication skills for translating requirements between technical and business stakeholders.
• Experience designing scalable cloud architectures and integrating enterprise systems.
• Familiarity with Python and common LLM frameworks and tools, or a background in machine learning or data science.
• Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience in a field relevant to the role through coursework, training, or professional experience.
• Ability to collaborate across organizations, work through trade-offs, balance competing priorities, teach, mentor, and help others succeed.
• Passion for using technology safely and beneficially to advance safe AI systems.

Nice to have

• US Secret Clearance, preferred for working with defense technology customers.
• Prior experience in government, government contracting, or government technology.
