Service Now Platform Architect (Security)

Location: Chicago, IL; applicants must be authorized to work in the United States without employment-based visa sponsorship.

Salary: $137,400–$233,600 USD base pay annually.

What you will do

• Define and maintain ServiceNow platform security architecture, standards, security patterns, guardrails, governance procedures, and roadmap.
• Establish secure identity, authentication, authorization, ACL, role, privileged-access, service-account, and access-review patterns.
• Design and govern secure APIs, integrations, scoped applications, cross-scope access, application isolation, and integration identities.
• Set secure engineering standards for JavaScript, Glide APIs, Script Includes, Business Rules, Flow Designer, Scripted REST APIs, IntegrationHub, and custom applications; conduct architecture, security-design, and code reviews.
• Assess platform hardening, vulnerabilities, upgrades, patches, releases, plugins, security controls, audit evidence, and regulatory compliance.
• Serve as the ServiceNow Platform Security SME and provide architectural guidance to engineering, development, administration, identity, cybersecurity, risk, and product stakeholders.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Business, or a related field.
• 15+ years of IT experience, including significant ServiceNow architecture, engineering, or solution design experience.
• 5+ years as a ServiceNow Architect in a large enterprise environment, focused on platform security, access control, and administration.
• Strong understanding of ServiceNow ACLs, roles, groups, security best practices, architecture, configuration, application development, integrations, data, and security.
• Familiarity with identity management systems and experience integrating ServiceNow with identity providers using SAML, OAuth, SCIM, or LDAP.
• Cybersecurity experience, including risk assessments, audit response, or vulnerability management.
• Experience establishing architecture standards, design patterns, governance, and engineering guardrails.
• Strong understanding of ITSM/ITIL, security, privacy, risk, and enterprise technology practices.
• Strong communication and influencing skills across technology and business stakeholders.

Nice to have

• Experience in financial services or another highly regulated industry.
• Experience across ServiceNow products including ITSM, ITOM, ITAM, IRM, SecOps, HRSD, and DevOps.
• Experience with enterprise-scale ServiceNow modernization or transformation.
• ServiceNow CSA certification; CIS, CAD, or CTA certifications are preferred.
