Events Manager (AI)

Location: San Francisco or New York City, United States; occasional travel required.

Salary: $240,000–$266,000 base pay annually, plus equity, eligible performance-related bonuses, and benefits.

What you will do

• Plan and deliver B2B events from initial planning through onsite execution, including third-party conferences, customer learning, enablement and training programs, enterprise flagship events, executive gatherings, and customer events.
• Coordinate guest experience, front-of-house operations, registration, check-in, hospitality, catering, production logistics, agencies, vendors, and third-party conference requirements.
• Build project schedules with milestones, owners, deliverables, and deadlines; select and negotiate with venues, caterers, AV providers, and creative production partners in coordination with Procurement and Legal.
• Manage guest communications before and after events, including outreach and follow-up, while partnering with Marketing, Enterprise Marketing, Field Marketing, Sales, Product Marketing, Design, and Production.
• Track budgets and spending, process invoices, complete financial reconciliation and reporting, and review attendance, engagement, customer feedback, spend, and business outcomes.
• Coordinate safety, security, accessibility, contingency planning, and post-event findings to improve future programs and assess return on investment.

Requirements

• 7+ years of event experience covering planning, onsite delivery, and post-event evaluation.
• Strong background in B2B conferences, customer programs, or learning and enablement events.
• Experience shaping guest experiences and coordinating front-of-house operations and vendors for business audiences.
• Discretion and care when supporting executives, customers, business leaders, and senior partners.
• Attention to detail, calmness under pressure, thoughtful hospitality, sound judgment, and the ability to translate business objectives into well-run experiences.
• Interest in OpenAI’s mission and in helping business audiences explore practical uses of AI through events.
