Commercial Counsel (AI)

Location: Remote (US)

Base salary: $175K–$220K. Equity and bonus compensation are also offered.

What you will do

• Review and negotiate commercial contracts with speed and precision, identifying important obligations, risks, and off-market terms.
• Collaborate with legal colleagues to interpret contract terms and surface anomalies and edge cases requiring expert judgment.
• Identify inefficiencies and recurring review patterns and convert them into improvements for the broader team.
• Standardize recurring contract types and develop playbooks so legal judgment compounds across deals.
• Partner with engineering and operations to evolve the legal service delivery model.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience reviewing commercial contracts in private practice or in-house.
• Impeccable attention to detail and sound commercial judgment, including the ability to identify buried clauses and incorrect cross-references and distinguish signal from noise.
• High standards for work quality and a drive to improve outcomes.
• Ability to embrace change and work confidently in a fast-paced, sometimes ambiguous environment.
• Clear written and verbal communication, including the ability to explain difficult judgments simply.
• Interest in applying AI to legal practice and working at the frontier of legal work.
