Director, Project Management (Clinical Research)

Location: Remote, United States. Domestic and international travel, including overnight stays, is required.

Salary: $162,000–$243,000 USD annually, with eligibility for a discretionary annual bonus.

What you will do

• Direct, manage, and support Project Directors and Project Managers in planning, executing, and governing global clinical projects and portfolios.
• Provide leadership and strategic oversight for clinical programs, including project scope, risk, resources, schedules, budgets, quality, and deliverables.
• Serve as the primary escalation point for study sponsors beyond project management and participate in business development, proposals, budgeting, and bid defense.
• Manage project and program interdependencies, milestones, performance indicators, continuous improvement, and recovery of at-risk projects.
• Select, train, develop, coach, evaluate, and manage the performance and workload of Project Directors and Project Managers.
• Ensure compliance with SOPs, project plans, working guidelines, GCP/ICH guidelines, and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in a science or health-related field.
• At least 10 years of experience in clinical research, including extensive project management and line management experience or proven competencies for this position.
• In-depth proven experience in pharmaceutical and/or device research.
• Working knowledge of GCP/ICH guidelines and the clinical development process.
• Experience with Microsoft Office products, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, as well as Microsoft Project and project management software.
• Working knowledge of project management techniques and tools, strategic planning, risk management, and change management.
• Proven experience in people management, delegation, negotiation, conflict management, and leading global, cross-functional project management environments.
• Excellent communication, presentation, interpersonal, organizational, analytical, planning, time management, decision-making, and critical-thinking skills, with strong attention to detail and business acumen.
• Ability to work with business unit leadership, understand customer needs, deliver complex presentations to senior management, and lead teams with integrity and accountability.
