Associate Director of Operations (Genetic Medicines)

Location: Cambridge, MA; hybrid workplace

Salary: $131,000–$183,000 per year

The hirify.global's Center for Therapeutic Genetics is a nonprofit collaboration with Boston Children's Hospital and The Jackson Laboratory that develops genetic medicines for rare and ultra-rare diseases.

What you will do

• Lead the center's operational framework across governance, finance, communications, logistics, and execution for preclinical, manufacturing, and clinical programs.
• Translate strategic priorities into operating plans, timelines, performance indicators, policies, processes, and evaluation methods.
• Manage and forecast the operations budget, track program pipelines and milestones, and report to fiscal sponsors and partner institutions.
• Coordinate oversight committees, leadership teams, scientific advisory boards, governance gates, meeting materials, decisions, and follow-up actions.
• Manage relationships with founding partners and external collaborators, including tri-institutional governance models, MOUs, related agreements, and onboarding of new partners.
• Prepare executive- and board-level communications, business plans, summaries, presentations, data reports, and stakeholder updates while supporting patient and community engagement.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree with 10+ years of related experience, or Master's degree with 8+ years, or PhD with 5+ years, in project management, alliance management, strategic consulting, or a related field; equivalent experience is considered.
• 5+ years of management experience leading teams, programs, or cross-functional efforts.
• Advanced understanding of how teams contribute to organizational objectives and working understanding of how a large research institution operates.
• Proven experience managing complex projects, timelines, and multi-million-dollar budgets with accountability for results.
• Ability to analyze complex or ambiguous situations, use data to drive decisions, and create practical solutions to unusual problems.
• Ability to understand and communicate complex scientific ideas to varied audiences.
• Strong strategic and tactical execution, interpersonal judgment, initiative, problem-solving, consensus-building, and written and verbal communication skills.

Nice to have

• Background in science, medicine, or a related field.
• Experience with board-level communications.
