Software Engineer, AI Platform Research High Performance Computing (HPC)

Salary: USD $119,800–$234,700 per year across the U.S.; USD $160,200–$261,000 per year in the San Francisco Bay Area and New York City metropolitan area.

What you will do

• Design and implement applications for managing AI research platforms, including automation, configuration management, scalable software, and infrastructure services.
• Develop and maintain full application stacks from operating systems through custom applications in cloud-based computing environments.
• Build tools and processes for automated configuration, deployment, monitoring, and operations using cloud infrastructure DevOps practices.
• Improve infrastructure security and advise internal clients on cloud architecture, hardening, monitoring, incident detection, response, gap analysis, and critical controls.
• Secure and maintain assigned products, tools, and processes while resolving priority misalignments across service teams and stakeholders.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field and 4+ years of technical engineering experience with coding. Equivalent experience is accepted.
• Ability to meet Microsoft, customer, and/or government security screening requirements, including the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire or transfer and every two years thereafter.
• Programming experience in languages including C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python.

Nice to have

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Data Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
• 6+ years of experience in software engineering, network engineering, service engineering, systems engineering, or industrial controls, or equivalent experience designing and developing complex distributed IT or research compute solutions.
• Experience with cloud, distributed systems, or high-performance computing, including research AI application environments, big data analytics, scale-out HPC/AI applications, GPU-centric machine learning, and deep learning.
• Proficiency with Azure-native IaaS/SaaS orchestration and configuration automation frameworks, Linux system administration, SaaS development, containerized application development, and automation tools.
• Ability to train others on technical and procedural topics.
• Experience securing environments on major cloud providers to industry certification standards such as PCI or HITRUST.
• Experience with Azure DevOps, GitHub, or Bitbucket in a cloud-centric environment.
• Ability to collaborate effectively and identify, define, recommend, and build optimal service solutions in a dynamic environment.
