Senior Technical Instructor (dbt)

Location: Remote in Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Virginia, or Washington, DC, United States; training is initially remote via Zoom and may become in person in the future.

Salary: $112,842–$135,416 USD annually.

What you will do

• Deliver live instruction for dbt customers, partners, and GSIs in small groups, large groups, and webinars.
• Create engaging remote learning environments and prepare learners to use dbt effectively within their organizations.
• Teach and demonstrate new concepts and skills, and facilitate live co-development sessions.
• Adapt instruction in real time while focusing on learner and customer outcomes.
• Provide classroom feedback to improve curricula and become a dbt product expert within the modern data stack.
• Contribute to curriculum development and improvements to education workflows.

Requirements

• 4+ years of teaching experience with some data analytics experience, or 4+ years of data analytics experience with some teaching.
• Experience writing SQL in an analytics context.
• Strong interest in teaching and creating engaging learning experiences.
• Ability to create highly engaging learning environments and adapt instruction to varied tooling and skill levels.
• Focus on learner and customer outcomes, with an active approach to seeking and applying feedback.
• Clear and concise communication with internal and external stakeholders.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-moving, cross-collaborative environment.

Nice to have

• Experience on customer education or training teams.
• Experience using or teaching dbt.
• Experience writing analytics code in Python, R, or similar languages in addition to SQL, and experience working with databases.
• Experience designing curricula using backwards design.
