What you will do

• Engineer, build, operate, and optimize network solutions across global data centers, cloud platforms, IP backbones, build environments, and FedRAMP-authorized platforms.
• Design and operate highly available Layer 3 topologies using BGP, OSPF, routing policy, ECMP, route reflectors, and traffic-engineering strategies.
• Implement hybrid and cloud-native connectivity across AWS, Azure, and GCP using dedicated connections, VPNs, transit gateways, and cloud routing services.
• Develop automated provisioning, configuration, compliance, and validation workflows using Python, Ansible/AWX, Git, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Lead troubleshooting, incident response, network upgrades, vulnerability remediation, capacity planning, and vendor lifecycle activities.
• Create FedRAMP boundary diagrams, runbooks, audit documentation, and operational procedures while mentoring engineers.

Requirements

• 10+ years of network engineering experience in large-scale, multi-region, and global routing environments.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; a master’s degree is preferred.
• Deep hands-on expertise with BGP, OSPF, global IP backbones, traffic engineering, and multi-vendor interoperability.
• Strong experience with JunOS, preferably MX and QFX, plus troubleshooting of routing, switching, TCP/IP, latency, packet loss, MTU, fragmentation, and QoS issues.
• Experience with hybrid cloud networking, Python, Ansible/AWX, configuration templating, Git workflows, automated testing, and validation pipelines.
• Strong understanding of network security controls, segmentation, encryption, logging, firewalls, VPNs, DDoS mitigation, IDS/IPS, NIST 800-53, and FedRAMP environments.

Nice to have

• Experience engineering, operating, or supporting FedRAMP Moderate or High environments.
• Experience with Fortinet, Opengear, BIG-IP, EOS, NX-OS, or IOS-XE.
• Experience with AI-based toolsets, API/MCP data sources, agents, observability, and automation workflows.
• Master’s degree in a related field.
