Senior Staff Data Scientist, Product (AI)

Base pay: $210,500–$284,500

What you will do

• Act as a strategic thought partner to senior Product and Business leaders, including leaders up to EVP level, by analyzing customer segmentation, funnel optimization, product adoption, and voice of the customer.
• Establish measurement architecture, success metrics, and leading indicators for the Mid-market product ecosystem.
• Design complex experiments, including A/B/n tests and multi-armed bandits, and apply causal inference methods such as propensity score matching and difference-in-differences.
• Develop ML models and LLM applications for personalization, lead scoring, and generative AI features in partnership with Product and Engineering.
• Identify growth opportunities across the customer funnel, quantify potential impact, and guide investment prioritization.
• Create reusable analytical frameworks and tools, mentor junior data scientists, and supervise a team of 3–5 senior to staff data scientists as a tech team lead.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in data science, product analytics, or related fields, with a track record of driving strategy and measurable business impact.
• Highly proficient in the AI-native data science technology stack, including Claude, Cursor, Codex, MCPs, CLIs, and APIs.
• Expert-level SQL and complex data modeling skills.
• Advanced practical experience with machine learning, including classification, regression, and ranking, plus LLM and GenAI workflows for real-world product problems.
• Deep expertise in experimentation, causal inference, and advanced customer segmentation.
• Ability to translate ambiguous business strategies into analytical frameworks and actionable product decisions.
• Exceptional storytelling and stakeholder influence skills, including communication of complex data concepts to non-technical audiences and senior executives.
• Minimum Bachelor's or Master's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Economics, or a related quantitative field.
