Systems Administrator, Mid (Linux)

Salary: $86.54–$110.58 per hour

What you will do

• Create, design, develop, test, implement, and evolve Linux-based solutions for Air Force Intelligence Operations.
• Support global, multi-infrastructure systems used for real-time mission operations.
• Update, test, and validate system changes across Linux systems and workstations.
• Perform Linux troubleshooting, security hardening, patching, and systems administration.
• Build and modify Ansible playbooks and support automation, virtualization, cloud solutions, and secure access service edge capabilities.
• Translate customer needs into technical specifications and engineering solutions.

Requirements

• Experience updating, testing, and validating system changes.
• Experience with security hardening and patching for Linux systems and workstations.
• Knowledge of system administration interdependencies for RHEL 8 and RHEL 9 and administration of Linux-based workstations.
• Knowledge of GitLab and Ansible, including experience building and modifying playbooks.
• Knowledge of RHEL Subscription Manager and PKI infrastructure.
• TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph is required.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, information systems, or engineering and 10+ years of Linux-based systems and workstation administration experience, or a high school diploma/GED and 12+ years of such experience.

Nice to have

• Experience creating Linux-based solutions for customer requirements.
• Experience with health and status monitoring software, including Nagios.
• Experience supporting U.S. Government customers, preferably in the U.S. Intelligence Community.
• Experience with Linux scripting languages.
• Knowledge of network concepts and switch/firewall configurations.
• Red Hat Linux Certification.
• DoD 8570-compliant IAT Level II or III certification, such as Security+.
