Principal Engineer Software (Strata Cloud Control Plane) (Evergreen)

Location: Santa Clara, California, United States; most teams work from the office full time.

Annual base salary: $156,400–$253,000. Additional compensation may include restricted stock units and a bonus.

What you will do

• Conceptualize, collaborate on, and develop a highly scalable cloud control plane for managing services at scale in hybrid deployments.
• Develop next-generation configuration management architecture and frameworks that improve microservice quality.
• Provide technical leadership and deliver solutions end to end with product management, development, and quality assurance teams.
• Investigate and resolve critical customer defects with DevOps and Technical Support teams.
• Recruit and mentor new team members while serving as a hands-on technical expert and engineering role model.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience building large enterprise applications and 3+ years in technical leadership roles building major cloud-native applications or subsystems.
• Ability to lead and collaborate with multiple cross-functional teams, with an emphasis on end-to-end delivery.
• Experience across the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control, build processes, testing, peer review, and operations.
• Excellent Go programming skills.
• Strong object-oriented design and development fundamentals, plus experience with Test Driven Development and Continuous Integration.
• Experience developing microservice-based solutions on public cloud infrastructure.
• Experience building data management solutions with transactional data stores.
• Experience building network and security configuration management systems.
• BS or MS in Computer Science or equivalent.

Nice to have

• Experience with Certificate Life Cycle management.
• Python programming experience.
• Experience developing in Kubernetes-based environments.
• Experience building enterprise software with graph databases.
