Senior Software Developer in Test (AI Portfolio)

Location: Canada — fully remote

Base salary: $114,750–$155,250 CAD annually

What you will do

• Analyze functional and technical requirements and define comprehensive test strategies and automation needs.
• Design, write, maintain, and manage automated UI and API test suites using scalable frameworks such as Playwright and Rest-Assured.
• Plan and execute exploratory, functional, integration, performance, and regression testing for AI-powered products.
• Validate AI model accuracy, output consistency, performance, edge cases, and overall product quality.
• Collaborate with development and product teams to improve requirements, test coverage, automation practices, and code quality.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize test frameworks and automation pipelines, perform root cause analysis, and help prevent defects.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in QA/QE and test automation development roles in a fast-paced Agile environment.
• Proven experience testing AI/ML products, including prompt evaluation, bias detection, or model boundary testing.
• Hands-on experience integrating AI tools or LLM APIs into CI/CD pipelines to accelerate test execution and automatically detect flaky tests.
• Strong understanding of software testing methodologies, automation design patterns, and high-quality test case development.
• 3+ years of hands-on experience with at least one framework for both UI and API test automation, such as Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, Rest-Assured, RestSharp, or Pytest.
• Hands-on experience with version control, issue tracking, and test case management tools such as GitHub, GitLab, JIRA, Xray, Zephyr, or Qase.
• Proficiency with relational databases and data validation, including SQL, MS SQL, Oracle, GraphQL, or DB2.
• Proficiency in one or more of Java, JavaScript, TypeScript, C#, or Python.
• Ability to assess system architecture and the impact of product changes across components, together with strong troubleshooting, analytical, problem-solving, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Interest in AI and willingness to explore AI-driven solutions that improve performance and efficiency.
