Staff QA Lead Engineer (AI)

Location: Remote, based in Portugal or Spain; candidates must already be based in Portugal or Spain and hold Portuguese or EU citizenship or a valid work permit.

What you will do

• Lead quality engineering and QA automation activities for client projects.
• Develop and maintain automated tests using Python, JavaScript/TypeScript or Java.
• Work with Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, REST Assured or equivalent automation frameworks.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and AWS cloud environments.
• Use AI tools, LLMs, Copilot or custom AI frameworks to enhance QA processes.
• Mentor and elevate distributed QA teams while collaborating within Agile/Scrum and DevOps environments.

Requirements

• 8+ years of professional experience in Quality Engineering, including 3+ years in a QA automation leadership role.
• Strong coding and automation experience with Python, JavaScript/TypeScript or Java.
• Deep understanding of Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, REST Assured or equivalent automation frameworks.
• Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and cloud environments, including AWS.
• Hands-on experience with AI tools, LLMs, Copilot or custom AI frameworks for QA processes.
• Strong leadership and mentoring capabilities, with the ability to support distributed QA teams.
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development and modern DevOps practices.
• Fluent English at C1 level.
• Already based in Portugal or Spain, with Portuguese or EU citizenship or a valid work permit.
