Logistics Specialist (Manufacturing)

Location: Plymouth, MN, United States. On-site role, Monday–Friday, 10 am–6 pm. Due to ITAR regulations, only U.S. citizens, lawful permanent residents, or foreign nationals with refugee or asylee status are eligible; temporary visa holders are not eligible.

Salary: $76,700–$85,000 per year.

What you will do

• Review logistics queues, automated alerts, and order priorities, and coordinate schedules to support on-time delivery.
• Partner with Production, Customer Service, Shipping, Supply Chain, Sales, APEX, and SOLO teams to resolve order, supply, quality, batch, and logistics issues.
• Develop and improve logistics processes, tools, and workflows to increase operational efficiency and accuracy.
• Analyze demand, risks, inventory, revenue opportunities, and logistics performance metrics; proactively mitigate late orders.
• Lead continuous improvement projects, support inventory optimization, and manage consumable supplies.
• Act as the site AX subject matter expert and support training, documentation, invoice review, policy compliance, and related system processes.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in business or equivalent experience.
• At least 2 years of manufacturing planning or scheduling experience.
• Strong information technology skills and the ability to train others on information technology tools and systems.
• Ability to analyze data, make informed recommendations, identify improvement opportunities, and drive operational improvements.
• Ability to lead cross-functional problem-solving and improvement efforts.
• Advanced understanding of production processes and equipment.
• Ability to coordinate activities across shifts and functions, work through ambiguity and rapid change, manage multiple tasks, and delegate when necessary.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Nice to have

• APICS certification.
• Manufacturing environment experience and experience with international shipments.
• Familiarity with ERP systems, customer portals, freight forwarding, and third-party billing processes.
• Experience using UPS and FedEx shipping software and Salesforce.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including macro automation, SQL, VBA, or Python.
• Experience evaluating and approving invoices, freight bills, and similar documents.
