Marsh Country Technology Leader – Ireland

Location: Cork or Dublin, Ireland; hybrid work with an expectation of working from the office 3 days per week.

What you will do

• Define and maintain a single integrated country technology roadmap covering strategic programmes, regulatory commitments, business demand, and operational resilience.
• Partner with the Country CEO, COO, and business leaders to translate priorities into technology decisions and communicate complex issues in clear commercial language.
• Drive delivery accountability across regional, global, local, vendor, and squad-based teams in a matrixed environment.
• Lead governance and delivery oversight for major Capex programmes from business case through benefits realisation, including challenging or reprioritising investments when required.
• Resolve cross-team dependencies, establish escalation routes, and maintain service continuity and operational stability.
• Represent Marsh P&I Technology with clients and senior stakeholders, including proposals, service reviews, remediation activity, and technology options, risks, and investment discussions.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in technology, digital, or business technology leadership, including at least 5 years at senior leadership level as a CIO, CTO, Technology Director, Head of Technology, or equivalent.
• Proven experience leading complex technology programmes through successful outcomes while managing scope, risk, dependencies, budget, timelines, and benefits realisation.
• Experience working in a matrixed model, influencing without full authority, aligning distributed teams, and holding delivery partners accountable.
• Strong Capex governance experience, including business case development, investment approval, benefits tracking, and programme recovery.
• Commercial credibility to engage at CEO and COO level and make complex technology decisions clear and decision-ready.
• Broad understanding of technology operations, platforms, architecture, service management, cyber risk, and operational resilience, with the ability to lead through subject-matter experts.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with engineering teams, senior stakeholders, clients, and boardroom audiences.
