.NET Application and Solutions Architect - Assistant Vice President (AI)

Location: Salt Lake City, Utah, United States; office work Monday–Thursday with remote flexibility on Friday.

Base salary: $110,000–$130,000 USD or $100,000–$120,000 CAD annually.

What you will do

• Lead architecture strategy, design reviews, implementation guidance, technical roadmaps, and engineering standards for illustration applications.
• Partner with Product, Engineering, Implementation, and business stakeholders to translate objectives into scalable technical solutions.
• Drive Azure cloud modernization, microservices, API, event-driven, and integration architecture, including migrations from legacy and on-premises deployments.
• Build agentic customer-facing applications with real-time recommendations, decision support, and interactive help using Azure Foundry, OpenAI, orchestration, RAG, retrieval grounding, and MCP server design.
• Provide technical leadership across multiple Scrum teams through design reviews, story refinement, code quality guidance, and architectural decision-making.
• Create architecture artifacts, reference implementations, and proof-of-concept solutions; participate in production support rotations and resolve customer-impacting issues.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in software engineering, application architecture, or solution architecture.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• Deep expertise designing and delivering enterprise-scale applications using Microsoft .NET technologies.
• Strong experience architecting cloud-native solutions in Microsoft Azure.
• Experience building and modernizing distributed systems with microservices, APIs, and event-driven architectures.
• Strong understanding of software design patterns, architecture frameworks, and engineering best practices.
• Experience guiding multiple engineering teams through complex technical initiatives and architectural decisions, developing technical roadmaps, and leading large-scale modernization efforts.
• Experience with production support, incident management, DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and cloud delivery practices.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, including the ability to influence technical and business leaders.
• Experience in Agile software development environments and supporting Scrum teams.
• Previous experience with illustration, annuity, wealth management, insurance, or financial services platforms.
• Experience supporting customer-facing enterprise SaaS products.
• Experience leading geographically distributed engineering organizations.

Nice to have

• Azure certifications or demonstrated expertise in Azure architecture and cloud engineering.
