Senior Software Engineer, Full Stack (Member Experience)

Location: Remote; must be based in California, Oregon, or Washington. This role is not eligible for sponsorship.

Base salary: $140,000–$185,000 per year, varying by location, skills, and experience; bonus opportunity and equity package.

What you will do

• Build and ship full-stack features end-to-end across member-facing web applications used to find care, understand benefits, submit claims, and manage health plans.
• Develop primarily in TypeScript across the application stack, including APIs and user interfaces.
• Own deployments from pull request to production using GitHub Actions CI/CD pipelines and Vercel.
• Design scalable systems and make architectural tradeoffs between performance, maintainability, and speed of delivery.
• Build AI-powered member experiences by integrating LLM APIs and using agent harnesses and frameworks such as Eve and Strands where valuable.
• Partner with product, design, and business stakeholders, contribute to engineering standards, and maintain high-quality production code through testing, reviews, and technical discussions.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience with full-stack ownership of production systems.
• Deep TypeScript expertise and strong React and Next.js experience building modern, responsive web applications.
• Experience owning deployments end-to-end with platforms such as Vercel and CI/CD pipelines such as GitHub Actions.
• Habitual, fluent use of AI tools such as Claude and Cursor in daily development work.
• Experience building with LLMs through API integrations, agentic workflows, or frameworks and harnesses such as Eve or Strands, or a strong drive to gain this experience quickly.
• Solid fundamentals in system design, testing, debugging, and code review.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.

Nice to have

• React Native experience for mobile surfaces.
• Familiarity with Java; Java expertise is not required.
• Experience with AWS.
