Manufacturing Engineer (Switchgear)

What you will do

• Analyze, design, and optimize switchgear assembly and manufacturing processes to improve cycle times, reduce waste, and increase overall equipment effectiveness.
• Lead Lean Manufacturing initiatives, including Value Stream Mapping, Kaizen events, and 5S implementation, on the shop floor.
• Develop and maintain manufacturing documentation, including standard operating procedures, work instructions, and routing steps.
• Specify, procure, and commission manufacturing equipment, specialized tooling, and assembly fixtures.
• Collaborate with Design Engineering to integrate Design for Manufacturing principles into new product introductions and engineering changes.
• Lead root-cause investigations for manufacturing defects and quality escapes, implementing corrective and preventive actions.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering.
• At least 5 years of experience in a manufacturing engineering role, ideally in power transmission or distribution equipment manufacturing.
• Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
• Proven expertise in Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement methodologies.
• Strong skills in Quality Control, Problem Solving, Root Cause Analysis, and CAPA.
• Ability to collaborate cross-functionally and manage projects effectively.
