Senior Communications Engineer (RF)

Location: Hybrid position at Hanscom AFB, Bedford, Massachusetts, United States.

Salary: $115,000–$130,000 annually, depending on experience, certifications, and qualifications.

hirify.global provides engineering and modernization support for Air Force airborne Battle Management Command & Control capabilities, including AWACS and future airborne C2 systems.

What you will do

• Analyze communications terminals, satellite relays, internet and broadband technologies, and wireless telephone services.
• Oversee the development, integration, and fielding of communications equipment through the defense acquisition process.
• Develop and implement communications plans, procedures, and technical documentation in accordance with DoD acquisition processes.
• Manage communications system interfaces and integrate them with complex weapon systems and mission platforms.
• Manage communications system design and build activities across lifecycle phases.
• Select, install, and test RF components, including antennas, cables, switches, and down converters, while supporting RF receiver systems.

Requirements

• Must be a US citizen.
• Must have and be able to maintain a Secret Level Clearance.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s degree and at least 12 years of experience, including at least 5 years supporting DoD programs, or 15 years of experience, including at least 8 years supporting DoD programs.
• Experience with communications systems engineering, integration, and lifecycle management for defense acquisition programs.
• Experience developing communications plans, procedures, and technical documentation in accordance with DoD acquisition processes.
• Experience managing communications system interfaces and integrating them with complex weapon systems and mission platforms.
• RF engineering experience with antenna systems, RF cable design, and signal propagation characteristics.
• Experience with RF spectrum analysis and testing, including harmonics, intermodulation, comb generators, and third-order intercept point evaluation.
• Knowledge of analog and digital modulation techniques, receiver sensitivity, receiver selectivity, and communications performance optimization.
• Experience programming automated test and measurement equipment through computer interfaces and using Microsoft Office Suite for technical reporting and analysis.
• Exceptional communication, cross-functional collaboration, problem-solving, analytical, organizational, stakeholder management, and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to independently manage multiple priorities, lead technical efforts through influence, and work with geographically dispersed and international teams.
