AI Engineer (Agentic Development Platform)

Location: Hybrid (remote/office); must be based in Portugal or Spain. The posting also lists Erlangen, Bavaria, Germany.

What you will do

• Help deliver the platform supporting the agentic software development lifecycle by translating delivery-team needs into reusable services, APIs, and self-service capabilities.
• Implement token budgets, consumption tracking, automated onboarding, LLM routing, and management of agent personas and skills.
• Embed with software engineering teams, configure tooling, code agents and guardrails, and build proofs of concept under the guidance of senior engineers.
• Advance harness engineering through context, tool integrations, execution environments, evaluations, and feedback loops.
• Write, review, test, and ship production code using AI coding tools such as Cursor and Claude Code.
• Capture lessons from projects to improve the platform, its blueprint, and the developer experience.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in computer science or a related field, at least 5 years of professional full-stack software engineering experience, and at least 2 years of AI-assisted or agentic software engineering experience.
• Strong programming fundamentals and flexibility across languages.
• Practical experience integrating systems through APIs or data pipelines, including authentication, dependencies, and error handling.
• Systems understanding and curiosity about design trade-offs such as message queues versus synchronous APIs and relational versus NoSQL databases.
• Hands-on experience with AI-assisted development tools such as Cursor, Claude Code, or Copilot, plus interest in agent workflows, context, skills, and evaluations.
• Willingness to embed with teams, learn quickly, and deliver in short cycles, with a collaborative, hands-on attitude, good communication skills, and growing ownership.
• Fluent English and residence or location in Portugal or Spain are required.

Nice to have

• Experience with a statically typed language such as C#, Java, or TypeScript.
• Experience with CI/CD and cloud-native development.
• Spanish language skills.
