Systems Engineer IV (Fusion Energy)

Location: Full-time, onsite role based at the headquarters in Denver, Colorado; candidates must be U.S. citizens or nationals, U.S. permanent residents, or lawfully admitted refugees or asylees.

What you will do

• Provide technical guidance and oversight for system functionality development and implementation.
• Establish processes, documentation, and bidirectional traceability across requirements, architecture, analysis, and other technical products.
• Collaborate with program teams on the integration of new development and legacy systems and support updated releases.
• Coordinate technical decisions, negotiate across teams, and optimize the holistic system.
• Conduct risk assessments and ensure mitigation plans are developed and implemented.
• Develop approaches for integrating, analyzing, and verifying operability, reliability, maintainability, and supportability.

Requirements

• Minimum B.S. degree in engineering or another technical field, such as mechanical, electrical, or chemical engineering.
• 10+ years of Systems Engineering or Software Engineering experience.
• Experience leading cross-functional teams and collaborating with stakeholders to drive technical innovation and growth.
• Experience owning the integrated technical baseline for complex systems through the full Systems Engineering Lifecycle.
• Experience working on development programs for large, complex, integrated systems or facilities, preferably in fusion or energy, nuclear, aerospace, space, or defense.
• Strong technical experience in simulation, software, and data analysis, with an understanding of industry trends and emerging technologies.
• Fluency with Atlassian suite tools, including Confluence and Jira.
• Experience with rapid technology development, integration, and testing.
• Strong communication, teamwork, execution, and coordination skills; project management experience including labor estimating and schedule management; and demonstrated configuration management experience.
• Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident, or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Nice to have

• Experience defining, designing, and activating large facilities for assembly, integration, and testing of large complex systems.
• Experience with high-energy laser systems, optics, or nuclear energy systems.
