Senior Technical Consultant (Identity Security)

Location: Washington, DC; must work onsite at Fort Meade. Up to 50% future travel to customer sites is required. U.S. Person status and active Secret Clearance are required.

Annual OTE: $157,000–$235,000 USD for candidates located in California excluding the San Francisco Bay Area, Colorado, Illinois, New York, and Washington.

What you will do

• Deliver hands-on post-sales consulting, implementation, deployment, technical design, configuration, and troubleshooting for Okta customers.
• Gather, analyze, and document requirements while managing scope, schedules, status, documentation, and multiple concurrent customer engagements.
• Design identity federation and access-control integrations using SAML 2.0, WS-Federation, OAuth, and OpenID Connect.
• Collaborate with customers, partners, Sales, Engineering, Support, Product Management, and Customer Success to resolve escalations and support successful post-deployment transitions.
• Mentor customers and less experienced team members, communicate technical information to non-technical audiences, and provide leadership during issue triage and crisis management.
• Improve delivery processes and standards, develop new offerings, and contribute customer insights to product development and scalability.

Requirements

• 5–7 years of experience as a technical consultant delivering solutions to external customers.
• Experience with identity federation and robust access-control protocols, including OAuth, OpenID Connect, SAML 2.0, and WS-Federation.
• Software development experience with Java, Ruby, .NET, PHP, REST/JSON, or similar technologies.
• Experience with JavaScript and one major JavaScript MVC framework, such as Backbone, Angular, Ember, or React.
• Knowledge of enterprise web technologies, security, emerging infrastructure, and enterprise identity lifecycle management processes and standards.
• Ability to work independently and cross-functionally, manage multiple customer engagements, and remain a hands-on contributor.
• Excellent communication skills, including issue tracking, triaging, crisis management, presentations, and communication with technical and non-technical audiences.
• Experience in process improvement, decision-making, process management, planning, information analysis, and standards development.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
• Ability to submit documentation establishing U.S. Person status upon hire, active Secret Clearance, and availability to work onsite at Fort Meade.
