Lead IAM Security Engineer

Location: Hybrid; qualified candidates must live or be able to relocate within a 180-mile radius of Bloomington, Illinois; Richardson, Texas; or Tempe, Arizona, and work partly from home and partly in the office. Applicants must be immediately eligible to work lawfully in the United States; visa sponsorship is not available.

Salary: $110,000–$142,000 starting salary, plus potential yearly incentive pay of up to 15% of base salary.

What you will do

• Provide technical leadership for secure, scalable Customer Identity & Access Management solutions supporting millions of customer interactions.
• Design, develop, and maintain authentication, registration, identity verification, authorization, secure APIs, and full-stack identity applications.
• Lead initiatives involving passkeys, passwordless authentication, adaptive authentication, registration modernization, and emerging digital identity capabilities.
• Translate business and customer needs into resilient, observable, secure technical solutions and evaluate emerging technologies.
• Own customer identity products from design through production support, including Agile planning, code reviews, CI/CD, testing, deployment, incident response, and continuous improvement.
• Lead architecture discussions, establish reusable engineering practices, mentor engineers, and help define the future direction of the Customer Identity platform.

Requirements

• Advanced software engineering experience designing and building secure full-stack applications, enterprise APIs, and identity services.
• Ability to diagnose and resolve complex production issues and support multiple concurrent initiatives while balancing roadmap delivery with production support.
• Experience with object-oriented programming, secure coding, automated testing, CI/CD, infrastructure automation, containers, and cloud-native development.
• Ability to build highly available and observable services using enterprise monitoring and logging capabilities.
• Advanced understanding of software architecture, data movement, integration patterns, and system design.
• Ability to influence technical direction and engineering best practices across customer identity solutions.
• Experience with Customer Identity & Access Management, Okta or similar identity platforms, identity verification solutions, and authentication modernization.
• Experience with Passkeys, FIDO2/WebAuthn, passwordless authentication, OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, SAML, multi-factor authentication, identity federation, and fraud prevention technologies.
