Translation Project Manager (Localization)

Location: 100% onsite in South San Francisco, CA from the beginning of the assignment.

Pay: $50.00–$57.19 per hour, paid weekly, based on experience.

What you will do

• Manage translation and localization projects for marketing, creative, business, print, digital, multimedia, and web content from request intake through final delivery.
• Prepare source files, reference materials, schedules, milestones, documentation, and vendor assignments.
• Coordinate translation vendors, linguists, internal content owners, linguistic reviewers, creative teams, and other stakeholders.
• Manage linguistic feedback, revisions, terminology assets, translation memories, glossaries, termbases, and style guides.
• Coordinate regulatory review and approval of translated materials and track compliance-related progress.
• Track turnaround time, quality, vendor performance, delivery timelines, and process efficiency; recommend workflow improvements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Linguistics, Translation, Communications, or a related field; an equivalent credential or equivalent work experience is acceptable.
• At least 4 years of professional translation project management experience.
• Experience coordinating translation project timelines, resources, vendors, deliverables, linguistic reviews, and vendor feedback.
• Strong understanding of translation and localization standards, terminology, and best practices.
• Experience managing linguistic quality using translation memories, glossaries, termbases, and style guides.
• Familiarity with Translation Management Systems and project management tools for scheduling, tracking, and reporting.
• Knowledge of localization workflows and industry-standard file formats for print, digital, multimedia, and web content.
• Strong project management, organizational, analytical, problem-solving, communication, interpersonal, and attention-to-detail skills.
• Ability to manage multiple complex projects, prioritize competing deadlines, adapt to changing business needs, address risks and challenges proactively, and maintain project momentum.
• Experience collaborating with internal stakeholders and external service providers.
• Ability to work 100% onsite in South San Francisco, CA from the beginning of the assignment.

Nice to have

• Experience with JIRA or comparable project management software.
• Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud applications and multimedia content translation.
• Experience coordinating marketing, creative, or branded content translation projects.
• Fluency in Spanish, Traditional Chinese, or Simplified Chinese; proficiency in additional languages.
• Understanding of creative content design and localization best practices for bidirectional, right-to-left languages.
• Experience coordinating projects requiring regulatory review or approval.
• Experience improving translation workflows, linguistic quality processes, or vendor performance.
• Familiarity with complex, multilingual content production environments.
