Location: Onsite in Colorado Springs, Colorado, United States; no remote or telework allowed. Active or obtainable Top Secret / SCI clearance required.

Salary: Projected annual compensation range of $72,826.14–$126,630.53.

What you will do

• Design, develop, and optimize large-scale, high-performance software systems for Navy DoD missions.
• Contribute to software architecture, efficient algorithms, data structures, and performance-optimized code.
• Solve technical problems and improve the scalability, robustness, and efficiency of software solutions.
• Collaborate across software, systems, and other engineering disciplines in a semi-Agile environment.
• Support continuous improvement, DevOps practices, workflow planning, and delivery of mission objectives.

Requirements

• BS degree with 2–4 years of experience, or MS degree with 0–2 years of experience, in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field; equivalent experience is also accepted.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain an active TS/SCI clearance.
• Proficiency in one or more object-oriented programming languages, such as Python, C++, Modern Fortran, or similar.
• Knowledge of database systems, including MySQL and SQLite.
• Knowledge of software modernization techniques and best practices.
• Excellent analytical and debugging skills, including the ability to design efficient algorithms, data structures, and performance-optimized code.
• Experience working in a collaborative semi-Agile or Agile development environment using practices such as Sprints, Scrum, or Kanban.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to explain and present complex technical solutions to diverse audiences.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of testing frameworks and tools such as JUnit, pytest, or xUnit/NUnit.
• Advanced proficiency in Fortran, C++, or Python.
• Advanced experience modernizing legacy codebases.
• Proficiency in planning, designing, and developing database systems.
• Active TS/SCI clearance.
