Senior Software Engineer, Experimentation (React/Python)

What you will do

• Own end-to-end technical design and delivery for complex features across Experiments, Feature Flags, Session Replay, and Heatmaps.
• Build and operate backend services, data models, React frontend experiences, high-throughput flag evaluation systems, and replay ingestion systems.
• Drive reliability, observability, correctness, operational excellence, and technical-debt reduction for production services.
• Partner with AI Engine, Product Platform, Product, Design, Support, and Solutions Engineering on AI capabilities, SDKs, shared infrastructure, customer escalations, and future product direction.
• Make technology, architecture, prioritization, cost, and product tradeoffs while managing concurrent workstreams and contingency plans.
• Mentor engineers through code reviews, pairing, and 1:1 support, and serve as an escalation point for complex bugs and on-call incidents.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience with a track record of delivering quality solutions quickly.
• Experience building and operating production systems end to end, with ownership of reliability and correctness in customer-facing products.
• Expert-level depth in at least one area—systems, web, or data infrastructure—with broad understanding of full-stack architecture.
• Experience owning technical design for complex projects and managing multiple concurrent workstreams.
• Strong cross-functional collaboration skills and the ability to work with teams and organizational stakeholders with little guidance.
• Sound judgment in setting priorities, selecting technologies, and making technical, product, and business tradeoffs.
• Track record of mentoring engineers and contributing to team growth.
• Strong technical communication skills, ideally including collaboration in an asynchronous remote environment.
• Desire to help teams build and decide faster in the AI era.

Nice to have

• React and TypeScript experience.
• Django and Python experience.
• Experience building or heavily using experimentation, feature flagging, or session replay products.
• Experience building high-throughput, low-latency services.
• Familiarity with analytics or observability platforms.
• Experience building with LLMs, AI agents, or tool-use frameworks.
• Comfort using AI coding tools such as Claude Code or Cursor.
