Backend (AI)

Location: Hybrid role based at Fabriq's Paris office; presence matters most during onboarding and for team dynamics, and Paris is preferred. Remote work is possible.

Salary: €70K–€80K fixed per year, depending on experience.

Fabriq is a SaaS platform helping industrial sites replace whiteboards and spreadsheets with tools for real-time KPI tracking, shop-floor problem solving, daily routines, and team collaboration.

What you will do

• Build conversational and voice-driven AI agents connected to real industrial data and used by frontline teams.
• Take AI prototypes from alpha to production quality by improving answer quality, reliability, and cost per interaction.
• Prototype and test customer-shaped use cases under tight timelines, iterating quickly and abandoning weak approaches.
• Design agentic capabilities from scratch in TypeScript and Deno on top of frontier models accessed through AWS Bedrock, without off-the-shelf agent frameworks.
• Contribute to architecture decisions, code reviews, and the technical direction of the AI team.
• Ramp up on the Fabriq stack and product during the first three months, contribute to AI features used by beta customers, and ship initial proofs of concept.

Requirements

• 4–5 years of software engineering experience minimum, with strong craftsmanship, clean design decisions, and the ability to explain architecture trade-offs.
• Daily hands-on use of AI to build software; having never used AI for development is a deal-breaker.
• Ability to work comfortably with ambiguity, make decisions, ship without complete specifications, and adapt as the roadmap changes.
• Builder mindset demonstrated through concrete examples of building, prototyping, testing, and iterating from zero.
• Fluency in French and English.

Nice to have

• Hands-on experience with agentic systems.
• Data experience, including working with datasets and analysing where systems succeed or fail.
• Collaborative communication skills and the ability to show and explain technical work while evangelising AI across product teams.
