Working Student Lab Engineer (IoT)

Location: Berlin, Germany; part-time working student position requiring 16–20 hours per week.

What you will do

• Maintain, optimize, and scale control and monitoring software for laboratory support equipment and testing infrastructure.
• Design and implement user-friendly interfaces for internal laboratory tools and hardware controllers.
• Build, configure, and maintain a centralized laboratory server architecture and control device.
• Develop AI agent-driven approaches for test automation and verification.
• Develop and integrate a structured database for laboratory equipment and resource tracking.
• Create prompt- and profile-based control interfaces for EV emulators, programmable loads, and power profiles.

Requirements

• Enrollment in a Master’s degree program in Computer Science, Automation Engineering, Embedded Systems, or a related field.
• Availability to work 16–20 hours per week as a working student.
• Passion for automation, IoT projects, or personal hardware and software setups such as Home Assistant, custom servers, or microcontroller networks.
• Familiarity with state-of-the-art AI development tools such as Claude Code and Cursor.
• Strong problem-solving skills, independence, curiosity, and willingness to experiment with new technologies.
