Assistant Project Manager (Construction)

Location: Milan, Italy; on-site.

What you will do

• Manage large-scale construction projects, ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and to the required quality.
• Monitor day-to-day field activities, information flow, progress, quality, safety, and emerging issues.
• Coordinate handover planning and documentation, ensuring expectations are met on time and to the required quality.
• Lead on-site progress and safety oversight and coordinate snagging activities with clients, consultants, contractors, and partners.
• Implement and monitor project procedures and processes, identifying issues and driving effective resolutions.
• Lead project meetings, communicate impacts, and review proposed variations and delays.

Requirements

• Speak Finnish.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent experience.
• 7+ years of experience managing large, complex, MEP-heavy construction projects, ideally in the Nordics.
• Full work rights in Finland.
• Strong understanding of CSA, MEP systems, local codes, and statutory requirements, including breaker coordination, switchgear operations, and cooling systems.
• Experience with contractor and vendor management, including RFPs, bidding, and change orders, as well as design management and general project administration.
• Proven experience on international projects and awareness of cultural and DE&I considerations.
• Familiarity with local construction laws, building codes, and AHJ processes.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and computer skills; detail-oriented, quality-focused, and collaborative.

Nice to have

• Project management certification such as PMP, or active progress toward certification.
