Software Engineer (Generalist, PHP and Node)

Location: Hybrid in Vilnius or Kaunas, Lithuania, or Poland

Compensation from €5,000 per month; specific compensation depends on experience and competence.

What you will do

• Build and maintain features across PHP and Node.js services for internal products.
• Own stakeholder problems from idea through production, define solutions, ship changes, and measure outcomes.
• Work across frontend, backend, and infrastructure based on where problems occur.
• Use AI agents across specifications, code, tests, and analysis, reviewing and steering their output.
• Collaborate with stakeholders, managers, and engineers in small, autonomous squads.
• Identify patterns that slow teams down and improve delegation, reliability, security, and usability of internal tools.

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience with PHP and Laravel, Node, and TypeScript, shipping real products.
• Production experience with MySQL or PostgreSQL databases and ORMs such as Eloquent and TypeORM.
• Demonstrated daily experience using AI tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, or Codex.
• Self-starter mentality, ownership, strong questioning skills, and willingness to challenge unsuitable approaches.
• Strong communication skills, including documenting work, explaining technical decisions to non-technical stakeholders, and pushing back on poor ideas.
• Ability to work comfortably with ambiguity and determine solutions when problems are clearer than the requirements.
• Comfort working in a Google Cloud environment with Kubernetes, Docker, and containerized services.
• Familiarity with observability tools such as Grafana and Prometheus.
