Commissioning Engineer / Site Supervisor (Energy from Waste)

What you will do

• Manage commissioning activities within the assigned system scope in line with design requirements, contracts, project specifications, programme, and quality standards.
• Supervise site activities and coordinate contractors, subcontractors, commissioning, engineering, construction, installation, and project stakeholders.
• Drive the completion of outstanding works, snags, punch-list items, installation testing, deviations, change requests, and technical issues.
• Monitor progress, risks, deviations, and technical issues, coordinating timely resolution with relevant teams.
• Ensure safe execution in line with HSEQ requirements, risk assessments, and method statements (RAMS).
• Complete commissioning, QA/QC, turnover, handover documentation, lessons learned, and project close-out activities.

Requirements

• Relevant Mechanical or Electrical Engineering qualification; an engineering degree or equivalent technical qualification is preferred.
• Experience as a Commissioning Engineer and/or Site Supervisor on large-scale industrial plant projects.
• Experience supporting complex construction and commissioning projects; Energy from Waste or hirify.global project experience is advantageous.
• Experience in the final stages of projects, including snagging, close-out, completion, and handover activities.
• Strong understanding of thermal plant processes, including Energy from Waste, biomass, coal, or oil-fired plant environments.
• Experience coordinating contractors and subcontractors on site and driving outstanding works through to completion.
• Strong understanding of HSEQ requirements and experience supporting safe site execution, including RAMS.
• Knowledge of relevant technical standards, plant function plans, P&IDs, and DCS systems.
• Relevant site safety qualification such as SMSTS, SSSTS, IOSH, NEBOSH, SCC, or equivalent.
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, plus strong communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary site team.
• Fluent English.
