Technical, Quality & Compliance Lead (Gifting)

Location: Nuneaton, United Kingdom. On-site, primarily based at the Nuneaton fulfilment site; the role is primarily UK-focused with a smaller remit supporting other European markets.

Bloom & Wild is expanding its gifting range and bringing technical expertise in-house for its own-brand food, drink, home, lifestyle, and other non-floral products.

What you will do

• Own quality and compliance end-to-end for non-horticultural and add-on products, including food and drink, candles, home accessories, pamper products, textiles, toys, and other gifting items.
• Build the multi-category quality framework covering risk assessments, product specifications, sensory and acceptance criteria, testing, transit testing, and the quality and compliance platform.
• Lead supplier onboarding, technical document reviews, risk assessments, and on-site audits to BRCGS standards for higher-risk own-brand suppliers.
• Own technical due diligence, regulatory documentation, label and customer-facing product-information sign-off, including ingredients, allergens, CE/UKCA marks, and category-specific warnings.
• Lead quality incidents, root-cause investigations, corrective actions, regulator engagement where required, traceability, recall and withdrawal processes, and regular mock recalls.
• Set site quality standards, surveillance testing, supplier quality KPIs, complaint and quality-metric monitoring, warehouse controls, record reviews, and regulatory updates.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in a food technical or quality role on the retailer, brand, or manufacturer side.
• Strong grounding in HACCP, allergen management, specifications, risk assessment, and UK food law.
• Experience carrying out on-site supplier audits and managing suppliers against clear standards; willingness and ability to conduct regular supplier visits.
• Experience building quality processes and frameworks, with the ability to apply quality and risk fundamentals beyond food to products such as candles, toys, and non-food gifts.
• Ability to translate complex technical information into clear, commercially grounded recommendations for non-technical stakeholders and leadership.
• Methodical, precise, detail-oriented, proactive, accountable, and willing to take practical ownership of work.
• Logical and collaborative approach to problem-solving, with strong cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Comfort with being primarily based at the Nuneaton fulfilment site.

Nice to have

• Food safety qualifications such as HACCP or Food Safety Level 4.
• BRCGS auditor training.
