Mechanical Engineer (Mechanical Design)

Location: Penang, Malaysia; hybrid work model with time split between the assigned Intel site and off-site work.

What you will do

• Design and develop mechanical devices, systems, equipment, packaging, and thermal solutions from concept through high-volume manufacturing.
• Create system concepts, product specifications, feasibility studies, and test plans for new and existing mechanical designs.
• Conduct functionality validation, reliability testing, safety assessments, prototype testing, design reviews, and system acceptance tests.
• Perform structural, stress, tolerance, and finite-element analyses, including materials characterization and post-processing for system reliability and performance.
• Collaborate with suppliers to incorporate manufacturing feedback, resolve production issues, and oversee procurement, acceptance, and deployment of designed systems.
• Partner with thermal engineers, electromechanical engineers, industrial designers, and customers to optimize designs, provide usage guidance, resolve concerns, and implement improvements.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering.
• 7+ years of experience in mechanical design, development, and testing.
• Proficiency in mechanical simulation tools such as finite-element modeling software.
• Proficiency in CAD tools; Creo is preferred.
• Expertise in structural and stress analysis, tolerance analysis, and material selection.
• Experience working with suppliers to resolve manufacturing-related issues and implement feedback.
• Familiarity with mechanical systems validation, including functionality and reliability testing.
