Product Manager Data-Driven Underwriting Solutions (AI)

Location: London, United Kingdom; hybrid work model with an expectation to be in the office at least three days per week.

Salary: GBP 60,000–90,000 annual base salary for a full-time role, plus performance-based variable compensation.

What you will do

• Manage the product lifecycle for assigned underwriting-solution capabilities, initially focusing on Underwriting Assistant.
• Shape product vision, roadmap, and priorities by balancing client needs, market opportunities, business value, and delivery capacity.
• Translate underwriting workflows and business or client needs into requirements, user journeys, and acceptance criteria.
• Work with technology, AI, UX, and external partners to drive development, manage dependencies, coordinate testing, and improve product quality.
• Advance AI-driven capabilities for medical-evidence extraction, summarisation, and integration with electronic health records, APS, and laboratory reports.
• Support client engagements, proofs of concept, implementations, vendor evaluation, and stakeholder alignment across regions and functions.

Requirements

• Proven B2B software product-management experience covering discovery, requirements, delivery, and adoption.
• Strong command of roadmap planning, backlog prioritisation, and the software development lifecycle.
• Demonstrated ability to translate complex and competing business needs into clear requirements and acceptance criteria and prioritise effectively in resource-constrained environments.
• Strong analytical skills and confidence working with data, technical teams, and external partners to make evidence-based product decisions.
• Exceptional communication, negotiation, and stakeholder-management skills across regional and functional boundaries, including client engagement.
• Ability to negotiate priorities with regional stakeholders, constructively challenge requests, and ensure decisions follow business value, evidence, and global product strategy.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with the Life & Health insurance or reinsurance value chain, underwriting workflows, and medical-evidence processes.
• Experience with AI/ML-enabled products, generative AI, document extraction, and summarisation, including related quality and governance considerations.
• Knowledge of SaaS products, API-based integrations, vendor evaluation, UX design principles, and client implementation and adoption strategies.
