Senior Data Engineer (GenAI)

Location: Singapore; hybrid work with at least 3 days in the office, confirmed by the Hiring Manager.

What you will do

• Collaborate with product teams, business partners, cybersecurity, and other stakeholders to clarify requirements and define data-driven features and products.
• Design, document, and present technical components, architectures, storage solutions, and data platform services.
• Implement production-grade code, data pipelines, APIs, automation tools, orchestration, monitoring, and data quality validation.
• Apply coding standards, security requirements, governance, testing practices, code reviews, and performance monitoring.
• Troubleshoot distributed systems, data pipelines, and backend services; support user acceptance testing, software upgrades, maintenance, and security remediation.
• Build and integrate GenAI capabilities and large language model applications into enterprise platforms and workflows.

Requirements

• 2+ years of relevant work experience and a Bachelor's degree, or 5+ years of relevant work experience.
• Strong programming skills in Java, Python, or similar languages, with the ability to write clean, maintainable, secure, production-ready code.
• Experience building backend services, APIs, data pipelines, integrations, cloud-native applications, microservices-based architectures, and distributed systems.
• Experience with real-time data streaming or event-driven systems, including Kafka.
• Experience with data extraction, transformation, querying, orchestration, data quality validation, monitoring, and performance tuning across large datasets.
• Experience with unit testing, integration or user acceptance testing, automated testing, logging, monitoring, CI/CD pipelines, code reviews, design reviews, and production troubleshooting.
• Experience building automation tools and frameworks for data processing or application workflows and supporting production systems, upgrades, maintenance, and security remediation.
• Experience working with Generative AI systems, integrating large language models into applications, and using commercial or open-source AI models and APIs.
• Experience building applications with LLM providers such as OpenAI or Anthropic; familiarity with prompt engineering, system prompts, retrieval-augmented generation, vector search, embeddings, tool calling, function orchestration, context management, agent memory, evaluation datasets, model benchmarking, feedback loops, A2A, and MCP protocols.
• Familiarity with LangChain, LangGraph, Model Context Protocol Servers, Spring AI, OpenAI or Anthropic SDKs, vector databases, knowledge graphs, and model evaluation frameworks.
• Ability to evaluate AI outputs and improve quality, safety, reliability, latency, and cost.
• Ability to use AI tools in everyday work for coding, debugging, research, documentation, testing, or productivity improvement.
• Experience presenting technical designs, collaborating cross-functionally, staying current with AI, GenAI, and distributed-systems trends, and mentoring engineers on best practices.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in fast-paced, ambiguous environments.
