Head of Technical Content & Editorial (AI)

Location: San Francisco, CA

Salary: $180,000–$220,000 annually, plus equity and benefits.

Arize AI develops AI observability and evaluation platforms, including Arize AX and the open-source Phoenix platform, helping AI engineering teams build, evaluate, monitor, and improve AI applications and agents.

What you will do

• Develop and execute editorial strategy covering AI observability, agent evaluations, AI engineering, technical education, thought leadership, product storytelling, and customer content.
• Write, edit, and produce technically credible blogs, tutorials, explainers, deep dives, educational resources, research, and executive perspectives.
• Partner with engineers, researchers, PMMs, DevRel, executives, founders, and technical leaders to turn complex ideas into clear, authoritative content.
• Build thought leadership through industry commentary, opinion pieces, publications, social channels, podcasts, speaking opportunities, and community engagement.
• Collaborate with Growth and SEO/AEO teams on content discovery, organic visibility, distribution, content refreshes, and performance analysis.
• Build scalable editorial workflows, manage freelance writers and editors, and support campaigns, launches, events, and company initiatives.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in content, editorial, technical writing, or content marketing, including ownership of editorial strategy.
• Exceptional writing and editing skills with a portfolio demonstrating technical depth and clear thinking.
• Experience producing content for developers, engineers, or highly technical B2B audiences.
• Strong understanding of AI development, developer tooling, cloud infrastructure, or related technical markets.
• Proven ability to interview technical experts and turn complex ideas into authoritative content.
• Experience building editorial programs across multiple formats and distribution channels, plus an understanding of SEO and organic discoverability.
• Experience managing freelancers, agencies, or small editorial teams.
• Strong editorial judgment and the ability to balance technical credibility, audience interests, and business priorities.
• Ability to operate as both a strategic leader and an individual contributor.

Nice to have

• Hands-on familiarity with LLM applications, AI agents, agent evaluations, and observability.
• Experience at an AI infrastructure or developer tools company.
• Experience writing technical tutorials or documentation-adjacent educational content.
• Experience developing executive thought leadership and original research.
• Familiarity with open-source communities and developer-led adoption.
• Understanding of AEO and content visibility in AI-generated answers.
