Mechanical Engineer II (Electronic Test and Measurement)

Location: Solon, Ohio, United States; onsite role

Salary: $40.10–$74.52 per hour, plus eligibility for a bonus

What you will do

• Design and develop mechanical components, assemblies, and enclosures for electronic instrumentation products.
• Create and maintain 3D CAD models, engineering drawings, bills of material, and product documentation.
• Support new product development from concept through production release, including prototyping and design verification testing.
• Perform analysis related to thermal performance, structural integrity, manufacturability, and reliability.
• Collaborate with Electrical, Firmware, Manufacturing, Test, Quality, Supply Chain, suppliers, and manufacturing teams to meet performance, cost, quality, and schedule requirements.
• Support production and customer issues through root cause analysis, corrective actions, engineering changes, product sustainment, cost reduction, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology.
• 5–10 years of professional mechanical engineering experience.
• Strong experience with 3D CAD modeling and mechanical design, including engineering drawings.
• Experience designing mechanical components and assemblies for manufacturing.
• Experience working on complex products from concept through production.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to work independently and within cross-functional teams.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with Creo Parametric.
• Experience designing electromechanical products containing electronics, circuit boards, cables, connectors, displays, power supplies, or similar systems.
• Experience with sheet metal, machined components, plastic parts, castings, and assemblies.
• Experience with thermal design, airflow management, heat transfer, tolerance stack-up analysis, and design for manufacturing.
• Experience supporting new product development and sustaining engineering activities.
• Experience with PLM systems such as Windchill, Oracle PLM, or Teamcenter.
• Experience with electronic test and measurement equipment.
• Experience with simulation tools such as FEA or CFD.
• Experience mentoring junior engineers.
• Experience supporting global manufacturing operations.
