Hardware Test and Reliability Intern (AI/Robotics)

Compensation: $47/hour for undergraduate students, $53/hour for graduate students, and $58/hour for PhD students

What you will do

• Design and implement hardware and software systems for comprehensive performance and reliability validation of autonomous flying products.
• Develop and execute test plans and testing infrastructure to support rapid design iteration and robust product validation.
• Analyze test data, calculate statistics, and document results to explain trends and inform design improvements.
• Perform failure analysis, identify root causes, and help develop process and design mitigations for system issues.
• Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, software, manufacturing, and quality engineering teams.
• Participate in design reviews and provide design-for-reliability input throughout the product development lifecycle.

Requirements

• Ability to develop effective testing approaches, identify vulnerabilities in processes and designs, and apply systematic problem-solving.
• Ability to rapidly identify issues in electromechanical systems and drive failure analyses to the true root cause.
• Experience with Python or another programming language for test automation, data analysis, and visualization.
• Strong desire to learn and contribute across multiple engineering domains.
• Excellent project management, written and verbal communication, and cross-functional teamwork skills.
• Familiarity with testing equipment and basic knowledge of stress, environmental, and accelerated life testing methods for assessing product durability and reliability.
