Test Engineer (HPC & AI Systems)

Location: Onsite in Spring, Texas, United States of America.

Salary: USD 57,500–130,000 annual base salary in Texas; variable incentives may also be offered.

What you will do

• Install, rack, cable, configure, stage, and prepare HPE HPC and AI systems, networking, storage, accelerators, and related infrastructure for engineering and validation.
• Perform initial troubleshooting of hardware, firmware, operating-system, network-connectivity, and system-configuration issues; document findings, escalate unresolved issues, and track resolution.
• Operate and maintain HPC labs and data-center infrastructure, including lab networks, remote access, power, cooling, rack space, cabling, workspace readiness, and safety and security conditions.
• Manage inventory, hardware lifecycle records, physical inventory reconciliation, equipment storage, and inbound and outbound domestic and global shipments.
• Enable local and remote engineering teams by preparing systems, validating connectivity and access, coordinating equipment availability, and assisting with configuration troubleshooting.
• Collaborate with R&D, IST, platform, engineering, program management, facilities, logistics, and partner teams while maintaining documentation, service records, tickets, status updates, and audit evidence.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or an equivalent technical field.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience.
• Hands-on experience with HPE HPC platforms, including industry-standard servers, storage, and networking products.
• Strong working knowledge of Linux operating systems, including Red Hat, SLES, and Ubuntu.
• Understanding of network topologies, switches, and configurations.
• Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills for complex issues in collaboration with engineering and test teams.
• Ability to work effectively in a global, culturally diverse engineering team.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate technical concepts, issues, and recommendations.
• Ability to work independently with limited supervision and follow lab safety, security, quality, change-control, equipment-handling, and applicable ISO 9001 requirements.
