Test Engineering Systems (Automotive Infotainment)

Location: Novi, Michigan, USA; office work in Novi is required.

Salary: $78,750–$115,500 per year.

What you will do

• Develop and improve software test cases, test processes, methods, and documentation.
• Lead system and software validation for connectivity projects on test benches and in vehicles.
• Coordinate milestones, dependencies, risks, project status, and resolution of roadblocks with project teams, partners, customers, and peer test leads.
• Analyze product requirements and performance issues and work with software teams and partners on solutions.
• Support adoption of relevant technologies and tools for automotive infotainment, embedded systems, consumer electronics, and software testing.
• Work in an Agile process and maintain project status in JIRA.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in automotive projects and testing of infotainment or telematics systems.
• Working knowledge of connectivity technologies, tools, and test methods; functional and non-functional testing; the software test life cycle; and test design methodologies.
• Good working knowledge of CAN protocol and CAN analyzer tools.
• Expertise in testing embedded systems or Android platforms and Android applications, as well as test and debugging tools.
• Working knowledge of test automation and scripting languages.
• Expertise in software testing across all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle, including test case development, execution, management, and status reporting.
• Experience with Agile and Scrum methodology; strong written and verbal communication, organizational, time-management, problem-solving, professionalism, and independent project-management skills.
• BS in Computer Science or Engineering desired; MS strongly preferred.
• Willingness to travel, work in the Novi office, complete a background investigation and drug screen, and meet the stated driving-record requirements for use of a company or customer vehicle.

Nice to have

• Experience with JIRA.
• Software testing training such as SQE or ISTQB.
• Embedded programming, real-time programming, real-time operating systems, embedded hardware or system design experience.
• Experience with C/C++, Java, .NET, Android, J2ME, or Windows Mobile.
• Ability to advocate for product quality and interest in new technologies, test methods, consumer electronics, and products.
