Map Operation Specialist (Autonomous Vehicles)

Location: Onsite in Mountain View, California, United States, Monday through Friday, 10:00 AM–6:30 PM PT.

Hourly wage: $36.25–$54.50 per hour, plus benefits.

What you will do

• Annotate, expand, and maintain HD semantic maps using proprietary mapping tools while meeting productivity and quality goals.
• Support map production operations, including annotation queues, map issue escalations, construction-zone monitoring, and route launches.
• Manage workload across multiple processes, adapt to changing priorities, and escalate risks and blockers.
• Own a functional area as a subject matter expert by creating documentation, process flows, and best practices.
• Identify gaps in tools, workflows, and procedures and drive optimization, scaling, and automation improvements.
• Partner with Engineering, Enablement, and functional owners, and mentor teammates through best-practice sharing and shadow sessions.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 4+ years of professional experience in operations, mapping/GIS, data annotation, or another technical operations environment.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to deliver consistent quality on high-volume, policy-driven work.
• Hands-on troubleshooting skills and comfort working with technical tools and data.
• Clear written and verbal communication, including process documentation and issue escalation.
• Ability to work onsite in Mountain View, California, Monday through Friday from 10:00 AM to 6:30 PM PT.

Nice to have

• Technical skills such as SQL, scripting, or data analysis.
• Experience using AI tools for daily work, including data analysis or dashboard creation.
• Project management or team leadership experience.
• Experience with GIS, HD mapping, geospatial data, autonomous vehicles, or robotics.
