Staff Software Engineer, iOS Platform (iOS)

Location: Remote - United States

Base salary: $217,000–$303,900 USD per year, plus potential equity and commission depending on the position offered.

What you will do

• Own the architecture of Reddit’s iOS mobile app and scale it for the next 100M+ daily active users.
• Identify architectural gaps and lead iOS platform redesigns to improve modularity, performance, and quality.
• Build agentic workflows to accelerate migrations across a multi-million-line code repository.
• Define technology direction, standards, design patterns, and best practices for iOS development.
• Mentor iOS developers across Reddit and provide guidance on complex iOS architecture and development problems.

Requirements

• 10+ years of software development experience, including at least 5+ years designing and developing iOS applications.
• Deep experience building mobile applications at scale.
• Experience influencing organizations of 100+ engineers on iOS technical direction and best practices.
• Experience with modern iOS development frameworks, including SwiftUI and structured concurrency.
• Strategic thinking and experience developing long-term technical foundations and scalable, well-designed software.
• Experience collaborating with cross-functional design, product, and data teams to deliver user experiences.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent technical expertise.
